Your wedding day is supposed to be the most special day of your life. But until that day there is a long way to go and lots to do. We’ve put together a little to-do list for you, so you don’t forget anything and to make your wedding day unforgettable.

 12 – 6 months before:

Hotel With Outdoor Pool

Set a date for your civil or church wedding (make sure to consider possible holidays and vacation times)
Set up a budget
Choose your witnesses

6 months before:

Fix the wedding menu
Get your wedding papers in order
Register for your civil or church wedding
Set the dates for your bachelor party and honeymoon
Choose a location
Hold a trial dinner
Book the wedding band/live entertainment and equipment
Hire a photographer
Buy wedding gown, accessories and outfit for the groom (organise dresses for the bridesmaids if desired)
Choose a master of ceremonies
Send the invitations

3 months before:

Make a seating plan
Arrange the guest accommodations
Order the remaining print items (table & menu cards, wedding programme, thank you cards)
Order the wedding cake
Select the wedding menu
Make a wish list for wedding gifts (or indicate on the invitations that monetary gifts are preferred)
Choose the wedding rings and have them engraved
Ask for leave from employer

2 months before:

Order flowers (bridal bouquet, lapel flower, car decoration, table and room decoration, etc.)
Discuss details with the photographer

1 month before:

Make an appointment with the hairdresser and have a trial hairdo

2 weeks before:

Walk in your bridal slippers at home
Try on the outfit again so you have time to make changes
Obtain confirmation from ALL service providers

1 week before:

Announce the final number of guests
Finalise the seating plan
Bachelor party

1 day before:

Last outfit check
Fill bridal bag with make-up, deodorant, comb, aspirin, etc.
Get your rings and all necessary papers ready
Get enough sleep so that you can celebrate your wedding into the early morning hours

After the wedding:

Send thank you notes
Change passport and ID to new name
Inform banks, insurance companies and social security
